Actor Rayan Lawrence can be seen as “K-9” on the highly anticipated second season of Starz smash hit series “BMF” from executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power, Power Book II: Ghost, For Life). The show is inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late 1980’s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in this country. On the show, “K-9” (Lawrence) is a savage, high-level drug dealer who came up in Detroit’s notorious, hard-nosed Brewster Projects. Never caught without a loaded glock, K-9 lives with no fear and demands the upmost respect and loyalty from all around him, but is quick to dispose of anyone who may demand the same. Impressed by the resourcefulness and downright hustle of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, K-9 takes the up-and-comer under his wing and passes on all the knowledge he’s collected on the game and the streets. “BMF” Season 2 of the series is set to premiere in January of 2023.
Most recently, Rayan wrapped production on the TV One original Movie of the Week “First Comes Love Then Comes Murder” (2023) in the lead role of “Doug”. Doug, an ex-con who is hired through a company that creates ‘second chance’ opportunities for people with troubled pasts, is struggling to assimilate back into the free world. The movie is directed by seven-times Emmy Award Winner Bobby Yan (Marz).
Rayan’s past film credits include, Pimp, Malcolm D. Lee’s Barbershop: The Next Cut, and Cadillac Records. His TV credits include CBS’ “Magnum P.I.”, “FBI” and “Blue Bloods,” Starz’s “Power” and WGN’s “Underground” to name a few.
